Six powers of the FTC are described in Exhibit 4.6, and students can discuss any four:

CEASE-AND-DESIST ORDER: A final order to cease an illegal practice.

CONSENT DECREE: Business consents to stop the questionable practice without admitting illegality.

AFFIRMATIVE DISCLOSURE: Requires the advertiser to provide additional information about products in its advertisements.

CORRECTIVE ADVERTISING: Requires advertising to correct the past effects of misleading advertising.

RESTITUTION: Requires refunds to consumers misled by deceptive advertising.

COUNTERADVERTISING: The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) permits advertisements in broadcast media to counteract advertising claims, plus a provision for free time under certain conditions.
