Discuss the role of the FBI and critical infrastructures as it relates to a terrorist event
What will be an ideal response
The FBI is the primary agency responsible for crisis management during a terrorist event. The FBI is responsible for developing, coordinating, and managing a response to terrorism as well as conducting and coordinating all aspects of an investigation involving a terrorist event (e.g., crime scene security, interviewing witnesses and victims, collecting evidence, arresting suspects). The FBI works closely with state and local law enforcement agencies and hosts a variety of programs aimed at coordinating investigations and preventing future terrorist strikes. These include the management of the Joint Terrorism Task Forces, the National Counterterrorism Center and the Public Internet Tip Line, the Counterterrorism Fly Team, and the Ten Most Wanted Terrorist List.
