Explain the difference between confirmation and disconfirmation

What will be an ideal response?

Disconfirmation occurs when a person ignores the presence of others and ignores who
they are as people. Three common types of disconfirmation are sexism, racism, and
heterosexism. Such talk implies that a person does not exist outside of his or her race, sex, or
sexual orientation. Competent, ethical communicators strive for confirmation in their
communication interactions. Confirmation acknowledges the presence and acceptance of
others.
