Revising is inserting new ideas, supporting evidence, deleting ideas, moving sentences around to clarify meaning and strengthening transitions and links between ideas. Editing is cleaning and tightening up the mechanical aspects of writings, such as
spelling, grammar, usage, verb tense, sentence length, etc.
