Do infants experience pain? Provide evidence

What will be an ideal response?

It was once thought that infants did not experience pain. Surgery was even performed on them without anesthetic. It turns out that they recover quickly from pain, perhaps as a coping defense, so they do not react for a long time. Infants' blood pressure and heart rate will increase, their palms will sweat, their muscles will tense, and their pupils will dilate when they are in pain. Further, they cry in a different tone than otherwise.
