What will be an ideal response?

Formal assessments are standardized test: Criterion-referenced tests measure students' performance and/or mastery of specific instructional objectives and compare their scores to students in other locations. They are both administered with specific criteria.
Informal assessments are observations, checklists, conferencing, Peer Reviews, and self-assessments. These are for teachers, students, and parents and show how students are progressing towards the learning goals.
