Are there areas of your project’s development that would benefit from a prototype? Why/why not?

What will be an ideal response?

Students should come up with original game concepts and explore why their projects would benefit from a prototype. Whether or not a game will ultimately end up being developed using it, Creator is an excellent prototyping tool. If this chapter is being used in a course focusing on prototyping, have students consider the value of a prototype. Being able to assemble a working prototype will help sell the idea to a publisher (or other source of funding) and also provide a way to clearly communicate the game’s functionality to the rest of the team. On rare occasions, a prototype might really reflect a stage in the production of a final game; students should discuss how they might want to develop prototypes for their original games.
