Two common methods for obtaining large quantities of a DNA fragment or gene of interest is by PCR or by DNA

cloning (for example, construction of a DNA library). Explain one advantage of using PCR and one advantage of using
DNA cloning in a living cell. What will be an ideal response?

Advantages of PCR:1.
Faster (lots of DNA obtained in a few hours).
2. More specific (the specific DNA fragment or gene of interest can be easily targeted for
amplification).
Advantages of DNA cloning:1.
The sequence of the DNA fragment or gene of interest must be know in order to construct
DNA primers.
