Briefly describe Sikh personal ethics and moral rules.
What will be an ideal response?
In Sikh personal ethics, the use of alcohol, drugs, and any addictive substance is forbidden. Tobacco is forbidden as well. Sikhs believe in hard work and generous charity. Members of the Khalsa are required to wear the Five Ks and to avoid four particular sins: cutting their hair, eating meat not butchered according to Sikh rules, adultery, and using tobacco and intoxicants. Sikhs who commit these sins must confess them openly and be reinitiated into the religion. If they are known to commit these sins and do not confess, they are excluded from the faith.
