How can roll call training be effectively used?
What will be an ideal response?
Roll call training, usually conducted from 15 to 30 minutes prior to the beginning of a tour of duty, can be used to discuss information about wanted and dangerous persons and new departmental policies and procedures. Other matters may also be addressed, such as issuing officers court subpoenas, explaining new departmental policies and procedures, and discussing shift- and beat-related matters. Roll call meetings afford an excellent opportunity for supervisors to update officers' knowledge and to present new ideas and techniques.
