Why is it important for the President to influence public opinion and Congress concerning crime policy?
What will be an ideal response?
Answer:
Mark of a good president is legislative success with Congress. Crime policies can give the president much needed wins legislatively speaking. It also makes the president appear to be addressing a problem of concern with the public. Thus, by influencing the public, it provides a feed back loop for legislative success with Congress (p. 118).
