What will be an ideal response?


Law enforcement officers may use artificial means of aiding their vision, such as bifocals, binoculars, or telescopes, but they may not use mechanical or electronic listening devices that intrude and violate the privacy of another person without a court order. People who are talking about criminal activity sometimes become careless and do not exercise a right of privacy. If law enforcement officers are where they have a right to be, they may testify in court about statements that they overheard or heard inadvertently.
