Explain the difference between 2-D construction documents and 3-D models.

What will be an ideal response?

?Two-dimensional (2-D) documents use standard representation of the project elements through a variety of symbols and drawing conventions. The constructors convert these two-dimensional drawings to a three-dimensional full-scale actual facility. This is a complicated process that requires communication and understanding by all involved in the project.?Construction owners don't always have expertise in reading 2-D construction documents. 3-D models can help architects and engineers convey their designs to owners. ?3-D models provide a more accurate view of the proposed project, allowing the owner/user to visualize the volume of the project and project elements in some detail. Fly-through views can show interior views as well as exterior views. As detail of the model develops through the design process, increasing detail can be available for all of the stake-holders in the project.
