Feelings and emotions create barriers to communication. Stress, fear, anger, and sadness can all make it difficult to concentrate on the communication. Even positive emotions, such as love and happiness, can also prevent effective communication. For example, someone who just won the lottery or found the love of a lifetime may have trouble focusing on ordinary conversations.
