Why are nearly all recently built astronomical telescopes reflectors instead of refractors?
What will be an ideal response?
Refracting telescopes suffer from chromatic aberration, which limits their usefulness, whereas reflecting telescopes do not have this problem. The primary lens of a refracting telescope is much more difficult to manufacture than a mirror of the same size, and are more expensive.
