Much research has taken place on the value of diversity of organisms in a given plot of land. What appears to be the value of such diversity?

What will be an ideal response?

The diversity of the ecosystem helps each one. Monoculture fields are brittle,
fragile. The more species share a system, the more stable the system is. Decreases in
diversity are correlated with decreases in productivity. Loss of diversity in plants can lead
the plants to be unable to respond to changes in the environment.
One reason for seed banks is the preservation of genetic diversity. That genetic diversity
could possibly be important to adaptation of the plant to a future, different environment—as
in a future warmer world.
