Why does show-and-tell need to be carefully planned?

What will be an ideal response?

Young children have a limited attention span. As a result, if show-and-tell isn't well planned, a child who does this activity could wander in the presentation, making it much too long. Also, the child could be hesitant in his delivery if he hasn't practiced. Both of these outcomes will tend to bore the young audience. A teacher, therefore, should plan the show-and-tell with the child to make sure it flows well and has an effective length.
