Do enclosed display cases use more or less energy than open cases?

What will be an ideal response?

Even though enclosed cases reduce the total refrigeration load, they have additional energy requirements as compared to open cases. Anti-sweat heaters located in the glass doors require a substantial amount of energy. Enclosed cases also require more lighting as compared to open cases. Because of this there is very little total efficiency advantage between enclosed and open cases.
