Describe some of the unique needs of single parents.?

What will be an ideal response?

ANSWER:
They have to cope with raising children alone, as well as with child care arrangements and costs. This is problematic because most single women who head households live below the poverty level. Single parents need a support system for themselves and their children. School policies should reflect respect for the difficulties single parents have in getting to meetings during their work hours and otherwise being able to participate in some way in the child’s school experience. Teachers need to help them keep connected. While helping single parents, teachers also need to be careful not to be inappropriately drawn into a parent’s support system. They can act as a parent resource in talking about the absent parent and in helping children cope with the transition from one parent to another.?
