What different jobs are performed by coolant in the cooling system?
What will be an ideal response?
Coolant in the cooling system must be able to handle a variety of jobs. First it must be able to transfer heat from the engine to the radiator so that it may be removed to the atmosphere. Coolant must also be able to take care of the parts with which it comes into contact. The water pump seal must be lubricated and metal parts have to be protected from corrosion and electrolysis. Coolant must also be able to endure below freezing and above boiling temperatures.
