In a research study conducted by Bohnert and Ross (2010), it was found that a person's image on Facebook seemed to impact whether someone would be offered an interview for a job and the starting salary if offered the job. Image is important, especially when it comes to careers. With technology at the fingertips of employers, it is very possible that in addition to traditional background checks, internet searches may also be conducted. While you may be posting pictures or stories in good fun, employers may not like the image you've created. Remember that once you post something on-line, it is almost impossible to completely remove it from the on-line world. Think about the image you've created and strive to keep it professional.
