Please explain the two different ways that brain activity can be monitored as discussed in the chapter.
What will be an ideal response?
The first way brain activity can be measured that was discussed in the text is through functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), which tracks the magnetic signature of oxygenated blood as it moves through the brain, showing which areas of the brain consume the most oxygen and are therefore the most active. The second way brain activity can be measured, that was discussed in the text, is through measuring electrical activity called event-related potentials (ERPs) across the outermost layer or brain tissue or cortex.
