Emergent curriculum: a process approach for curriculum planning that draws on teacher’s observations and children’s interests. Plans emerge from daily life interests and issues. Takes advantage of children’s spontaneity and teacher’s planning.
Integrated curriculum: a set of courses designed to form a whole; coordination of the various areas of learning/study, making for continuous and harmonious learning. Math, science, language, and art are learned through many daily experiences, for instance.
Culturally appropriate curriculum: modifies the total school environment so that diverse ethnic and cultural groups will experience equal educational opportunities. The curriculum reflects the plurality of American society in general and the individual classroom in particular.
