You have been assigned to distribute the mid-afternoon supplementary nourishment. How will you manage this procedure?
What will be an ideal response?
The nursing assistant must first wash her or his hands. The nourishment list must be checked for each resident for any special dietary instructions. Supplements should be served at scheduled times. The nursing assistant should not offer nourishment to residents not on the schedule. If residents request a different supplement, the nursing assistant must check with the supervisor. Partially eaten nourishment or supplements should not be left in residents’ rooms. Residents should be allowed to choose what they want whenever possible. Assist those residents who need help. Note what residents were or were not able to eat or drink. Record residents’ intake for those on I&O.
