The PROPRIO ANKLE is the fi rst MP ankle/foot mechanism that can sense,
think, and act to ensure every step is correct. It recognizes uneven terrain and
adjusts the foot position accordingly, like a real ankle whose movements are
guided by a person’s brain based on what the person sees and feels under foot.
The POWER KNEE actively powers the wearer upstairs step over step or lifts
the wearer up steep slopes. Before these two developments, artifi cial knees
and ankles replaced the joints but did not have mobility of a joint guided by
senses.
