The temperature regulating center of the body is in the

a. hypothalamus c. medulla oblongata
b. brain stem d. temporal lobe

A
The body's heat regulation mechanism is located in the hypothalamus. When the body is overheated, the sympathetic nerves in the autonomic nervous system, controlled by the anterior hypothalamus, send a signal to the sweat glands. This trigger by the hypothalamus transmits impulses to reduce body heat by triggering perspiration. If there is a decrease in body heat, the hypothalamus transmits impulses to stimulate heat production.
