When considering whether two events are related to one another causally, what factors should you consider?

What will be an ideal response?

To be causal, the two events must have some co-occurrence.  But we should also consider how often things don't occur.  The causal event must precede the caused event. Additionally, there also needs to me some possible mechanism that connects the two events together.
