Explain the significance of apomixis in propagation of plants. Cite two examples of commercial significance. What will be an ideal response?

In apomixis, embryos are produced in seeds without the fusion of gametes. Such seeds can be
dispersed via the methods used in asexual propagation thus making possible the propagation
and survival of polyploid plants. Examples are citrus trees, mango, blackberries, garlic, and
certain grasses.
