Describe how STIs are passed from one person to another.

What will be an ideal response?

Responses will vary; STIs are transmitted from one person to another through infected blood and sexual contact which includes vaginal intercourse, anal intercourse, and oral sex. Through these behaviors, body fluids (including blood, semen, vaginal secretions, etc.) are exchanged and possible damage to tissues (i.e. tearing of the vaginal walls, tearing of the anal tissue, or tearing of the penile tissue) occurs. STIs are generally not transmitted by toilet seats, soap dishes, towels, door knobs or casual contact.
