What is APA format and why does it matter?

What will be an ideal response?

The written report can take many forms, but you will find that in the social sciences and education, most journals, universities, and faculty will require what is known as "APA Style" or "APA Format.". The Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA) provides the current standard guide for formatting research write-ups. Its most recent version—the sixth edition (commonly known as "APA 6th") includes specifications for how subsections should be organized, writing style, proper presentation of results, research ethics, and, of course, how citations should be referenced.
