How can social workers increase effectiveness in the use of the biological section of the biopsychosocial assessment?
What will be an ideal response?
Ans: Improving the integration of biological factors in assessment and intervention is important. This can be improved by increasing knowledge of neurobiology and psychopharmacology. With an increase in neurobiology knowledge, practitioners will be able to work in interdisciplinary teams, understand the assessments and tests run and interpreted by doctors, and can contribute to the overall assessment of the client. Second, with knowledge of the medications needed and the impact they have, they can better inform and educate the client through psychoeducational practices.
