What is meant by the term type A misfire?

What will be an ideal response?

A type A misfire is one that can cause catalytic converter temperature to rise to a point where it could result in permanent damage (1,8320F [1,0000C]). The MIL will start blinking repeatedly 200 crankshaft revolutions after the first misfire detection occurs. If the misfire continues, the MIL will continue to flash. If the misfire stops, the MIL will remain on until the problem is fixed and the codes have been cleared. Stored codes describe which cylinder(s) misfired.
