Interpret the CSF findings. Would you suspect bacterial or viral meningitis? Why?

What will be an ideal response?

The CSF findings are suggestive of bacterial meningitis. The specimen is usually clear or slightly
cloudy. With a bacterial origin you will find decreased glucose, increased protein, and primarily
polymorphonuclear leukocytes. A viral origin usually causes a normal or slightly increased protein
and normal glucose.
