Why don't all animals that group hunt show the same evolutionary trajectory?

What will be an ideal response?

Evolution has no roadmap; how one trait is co-opted is independent of how another trait may
be co-opted in another group. Fortuitous events lead to novel evolutionary trajectories. We
don't yet know what combination of selective pressures and evolutionary novelties sent us
down that path.
