Why should we care about the concentration of radio ownership?

What will be an ideal response?
c

ANS: A few large ownership groups now own as many as half of all stations in many cities. This clearly reduces the localism of ownership, which may then reduce responsiveness to local interests. Group stations are increasingly programmed at a distance, including programming of "local" news. Diversity of both music and news may well be reduced, although ownership groups claim that they actually increase the diversity.
