You are talking to the victim of a violent crime in the emergency room. Her boyfriend barges in and demands to know “what's going on.” Who owns the problem?
What will be an ideal response?
Answer: It is the client problem and the social worker problem simply because if the client is coherent enough she should communicate at her own free will to the boyfriend on what is going on. It is not the social worker responsibility to step in an able mind and body person. As the case worker it is your responsibilityto make sure everything goes smoothly with the client as well as the with the boyfriend so hat the victimis taken care of.
