Discuss Bug-in-ear and how this type of technology is used.
What will be an ideal response?
Bug-in-ear is a technology that was used in the 1960s in counseling, but it is not used much any longer. Computers have replaced bug-in-ear in counseling, a computer placed behind a client, so the counselor can see any comments or feedback. Bug-in-ear has been introduced into education more recently and is an approach that allows for immediate feedback at a distance (Sheeler, Congdon, & Stansbery, 2010). Sheeler et al. (2010) used bug-in-ear to coach teachers in working with children with special needs. The researchers found that the use of this technology was effective and the participants, teachers, generalized the feedback they received to other settings with success.
