How would you show your understanding of visual disabilities, paying close attention to aspects of vision that need to be working correctly?

What will be an ideal response?

Ans: Answers to this question will vary but should include elements of the following: When people see normally, acuity and peripheral vision is working. Acuity measures how well a person can see from a distance. The field of vision to perceive and realize objects that are around and within the direct line of sight is called peripheral vision. The correctly working parts of both acuity and peripheral vision help people to move freely in their environments. A student has a disability when their educational performance is adversely affected, even with correction (glasses, proximity to board, etc.). Teachers also need to be aware of the reason for the loss, the severity of the loss, knowing when the loss occurred and if the student meets the criteria for being legally blind.
