Briefly describe the difference between life-course-persistent delinquents (LCPDs) and adolescence-limited delinquents (ALDs)
Please provide the best answer for the best statement.
1.According to Terrie Moffitt, adolescents who show a history of problems at birth, before adolescence, after adolescence, and onward, are categorized as life-course-persistent delinquents (LCPDs). It is believed their problems originate in neuro psychological deficits that are result in a difficult temperament, an increased rate of ADHD, and learning disabilities in childhood. Many of these children are more likely to grow up in a high-risk environment such as a low-income home or with parents that have their own problems. Therefore, the combination of neurological deficits and the high-risk environment of the LCPDs places them at higher risk for engaging in criminal activity that often lasts well into adulthood.
2.Adolescents who have no previous history of problems in infancy or childhood but who engage in criminal activity during adolescence and/or emerging adulthood are regarded as adolescence-limited delinquents (ALDs). They tend to engage in criminal activity, such as vandalism, theft, and the use of illegal drugs.
