Explain the origins of the High/Scope Curriculum

What will be an ideal response?

The High/Scope Curriculum was a component of President Johnson's efforts to reduce the impact of poverty on developing children. The curriculum was launched in 1962 under the leadership of David Weikart to serve children considered developmentally at risk in impoverished neighborhoods in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Weikart and his colleagues developed High/Scope, as there was no existing curriculum that they felt adequately supported children.
