Discuss the consequences of technology on policing and the law.

What will be an ideal response?

The major consequence of technology on policing and the law will relate to privacy issues. While the law of search and seizure is fairly well established, newer, more invasive technology may force the Courts to issue new rulings. Other key implications for law enforcement will include the effectiveness and cost of technology. Utilizing new technology is great, but the cost of purchasing and maintaining these technologies could be prohibitive. In addition, the effectiveness of many new technologies is still relatively unknown.
