What are several ways to begin data analysis?
What will be an ideal response?
Begin by arranging your data in an ordered fashion. Sort coded data into coded classifications. Transcribe each interview verbatim. Look for patterns systematically, and create separate thematic topic sheets for each code. Mark down subthemes on the appropriate code sheet. Multiple coders should be used to establish inter-rater reliability. Use the index sheets you have created to identify the transcript in which the code has been located, the page number, and a brief verbatim excerpt. You can color code major categories and highlight the corresponding text in the transcript using that color. Additionally, you can create a short-answer sheet with a quick yes or no response, or short excerpt that summarizes the subjects' responses.
