For persons
concerned about gambling addictions, these limitations at least restricted the amount of
money people could lose through gambling with state lotteries. With the new state
department ruling, states may now sell lottery tickets on-line using credit cards. The
state of Illinois was first to implement this new system, although it will limit purchases to
$100 a day. Does this new method for purchasing lottery tickets affect your position on
the consequences of legalized gambling? If so, how? Is it still justifiable through ethical
reasoning?
