A pair of enantiomers are also stereoisomers. Why are pairs of stereoisomers not necessarily enantiomers?
What will be an ideal response?
Stereoisomers have the same chemical structure but differ in their arrangement. As a result their structures are not superimposable. However, although their structures differ they may not be mirror images of each other. Enantiomers are mirror images of each other and rotate polarized light in opposite directions.
