If a client is showing signs of hypothermia during a cold treatment, what should the practitioner do?
What will be an ideal response?
Signs and symptoms of hypothermia indicate that the cold treatment is not working for the client and that the client will not be able to reach the second (warming) and third (sedation) states. The treatment needs to be stopped immediately, and the client needs to be warmed with blankets or possibly a hot foot bath.
