Write a children's book about Hal the halite crystal. As the story begins, Hal is residing in a salt deposit in the desert. When the story ends, Hal is residing in the ocean and helping to give the seawater its salty flavor

In your story, tell how Hal ends up in the ocean.

There are many possible stories. Here is one example: Hal is made of sodium and chloride ions, his molecular formula is NaCl. Hal is one part of a large salt deposit called a salt flat. Rainwater chemically weathers the salt flat. But Hal is a crystal in a very large chunk of halite so it takes a fast-moving flash flood to finally erode him. He is picked up and carried in a stream toward the sea. The chunk of halite that Hal resides in gets smaller and smaller as it flows to the sea because it breaks down as it collides with other sediments. The small chunk of halite sediment containing Hal ultimately dissolves in the water. Hal journeys all the way to the sea as part of the stream's dissolved load. When he flows past a delta and into the open sea he resides there for thousands of years, contributing to the ocean's salty taste.
