Depending on how critical it is for the client to know the information immediately, perhaps some time could be allowed for education and to ascertain why the client wants to be left in ignorance. If it is critical for the client to hear the information, family consultation should be considered regarding how the problem could be resolved. For the length of time possible, attempt to honor the client's request.
