Sexual assault is a serious crime that involves many steps in the investigation. Discuss the investigative procedures

What will be an ideal response?

The first responsibility is to aid the victim and obtain medical attention. Questioning the victim and any witnesses will come secondary. The crime scene should be secured and a search for physical evidence should begin as soon as possible. Evidence can be found at the crime scene, on the victim, and on the suspect. A forensic examination should be completed by a forensic examiner or a SAFE professional. Follow-up interviews with the victim are necessary and typically occur after the victim has received medical attention.
