What is sexism? What part of the definition of sexism has been the subject of some debate?
What will be an ideal response?
Sexism refers to negative attitudes toward individuals based solely on their sex, combined with institutional and cultural practices that support the unequal status of different sex categories. To many psychologists, sexism and sex-based discrimination are two separate constructs, with sexism by definition involving structural power differences. As a result, some psychologists disagree over whether men can be the victims of sexism or can only perpetrate it against women (since men have more structural power).
