A logbook is a book that is used in recording the history of the day's business. It is usually kept at the host stand. Included should be the number of meals that were served for each meal period, the weather, and special events that were occurring in the community. The guest history also includes how much money was generated per hour and per meal period. This information is computerized by obtaining it through your Point of Sale system, if owned. Lastly the logbook is used in forecasting the staffing for the same day of the week next year.
